GameRokS Review: Drawn To Life. Dibuja La Vida.
Raposas al rescate! In this magical world you take the role of “the creator.” You must draw a hero and other items that will help you defend your village. Ciertos roedores causan miedo, pero estas raposas causan ternura.
Drawn to Life is targeted at a younger audience but it accomplishes to entertain even the most veteran of gamers. Its unique interface allows the player to draw their own hero and other accessories though out the Raposa universe. This in-game feature helps exercise creativity and problem solving skills. Having an imaginative mind will help you have even more fun with this game. Using your stylus, create up to three different heroes you can interchange by visiting “creation hall” in the Raposa village.
Once you have designed your perfect creature you will also have an option to pencil in its accompanying weapons.
The game itself breaks down into two main components, a bird’s eye view of the village in where you walk around gathering information about your next task and a side-scroller vantage point. The latter is where most of the action takes place, stomping and snow ball blasting your way through shadow induced baddies. But why do Raposa need a hero? Without spoiling the ending, the quick run down is that darkness has taken over and the book of life has been stolen. The remaining inhabitants have requested the creator’s help in retrieving said book as well as some aid defeating the impeding attack of the shadow monsters. Being the kind and helpful creator you are, you draw you hero and set him off on a quest to restore light to the Raposa people and get back the soul quenching book of life.
The touch-screen, if calibrated properly, will allow for pixel perfect creations to take life and run around in this magical world. As this game is aimed at younger audiences, the hardcore crowd will like the imaginative implementation of the touch-screen controls but will be let down by the lack of difficulty and variety in the game. On the other hand, the rest of us, will love this game, it may not be perfect, but how many games allow you to actually create your own character to such detail and let him roam the digital life? Simply put, this game RokS!
