GameRoks Review, FIFA 2008 DS.
Por fin un juego de futbol portátil digno de bueno futbol! Read our review of a cool FIFA DS addition.
The great debate, graphics over gameplay once again is opened. Fanboys on both camps will cry “fould” (yellow card?) for this review, but this game Roks! Yes the graphics are terrible, the DS is not a graphical powerhouse, but it can pump out polished graphics, as seen in Zelda and the upcoming Ninja Gaiden. Let’s not be fooled, what is a game if it does not have at least some decent gameplay. FIFA 2008 fixes many of the previous glitches found in recent FIFA DS outings. The AI is a little smarter, it still rides the shortbus, but it’s definately improved. Pero que tal el juego? Well, since you asked, the game is fun. Manager mode is very addicting, especially if you play short halves, you’ll want to keep playing through the entire season in one day to earn ranking points. 
I was surpised at how many leagues, teams and players were included in this little cart. Hay equipos de todo el mundo y mas importante aun, esta el mejor equipo del universo, Ecuador. Claro, los tarados de Electronic Arts diseñaron mal nuestra bandera; amarillo, azul, y negro? Parece que estos señores no fueron a la escuela.
Ese enorme falto de respeto se puede perdonar porque en FIFA 2008 tienes la divertida opción de grabar tus propios cánticos, ahora podrás sentirte parte de una barra brava, menos los botellazos en la cabeza.
That’s right you will be able to record your own voice and compose your own team chant, some may say useless feature, but we say it’s pretty damn necessary in a game of footall/soccer.
Ok it sounds perfect, it’s FIFA afterall we all know there has to be some annoying ticks.
Well, the most annoying part of this game is controling your goal- keeper during penalty shoot-outs. It’s a great idea to use your stylus to drag your goalie in the direction you want him to dive, unfortunately the response was just not there. I would swipe the stylus in the riht the direction and my Keeper would yous stand there offended I just poked him with a plastic stylus. 
Oddly enough, some teams’ goalies are more responsive, I don’t know if this a “skill,” to recognize your hand movement, but it’s definately frustrating when you guessed the right side to dive and your golies ignores the controls. This little flaw can cost you some games, so be sure to avoid shoot outs.
Regardles of the all so famous FIFA flaws, this one is the best outing on the DS so far, great online play, single card, and multicard play will have you hooked on soccer for a while. And when you get bored of your current players, update your roster via Nintendo Wi-fi. Quizás antes FIFA no te convenció, pero FIFA 2008 para el DS si que vale la pena. Juega en contra de tus amigos usando la conexión Wi-Fi, o se caritativo y mándales un demo a través de “download play.” En otras palabras, si tu tienes FIFA y tu amigo no, aun podrán definir quien sabe mas de futbol.
