CAPCOM Doesn’t Like People Like Me. Or Is It My Language?

Capcom Hates US

Gaming journalism has become as inundated with sites and “journalists” as a New York City public pool in hell heat July. It seems everyone is blogging about video games in one way or another. In a way, it lead me to like the idea that video games no longer give off that stench of wet leather pocket protectors and undeodorized arms pits. Weather you want to admit it or not, the majority of earth’s inhabitants own some kind of gaming device, the digital life style is no longer a dorky one.

With so many potential consumers, companies like Nintendo, Sega, Capcom, and many others, are in a position to make billions selling their products to the mosts people possible. All it takes is marketing and exposure, like the one us blogs offer games. We play them, review them, and try hard as hell to ignore the box full of free gifts the company you love playing games from sent to promote the game and write an honest review. Seems like an easy gig right? It would be if certain public relation managers wouldn’t act like gold-digging floozies-using this word to avoid “offending” the call girls. I know your job is to find the right media outlet, what set of criterion you use is beyond me and perhaps even the smartest mathematicians out there. Common sense and perhaps obvious reasoning would lead these “managers” to choose up and coming mediums with legitimate JOURNALISM experience to feature their product. Apparently, being a bona-fide member of the press is not good enough. Ruper Murdoch (FOX) may not pay our server hosting fees, but our years of experience and the arduous hours put in to build our credibility should more than validate what GameRoks is all about. If a company realizes there are millions of untapped players, wouldn’t you want to tap into that market? Rhetorical questions aside, that’s why we were created, to advocate Spanish speakers to acquire the English language while enjoying an activity engaged by the entire planet.

Can Capcom, makers of great games like Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Mega Man, symbolically shut off systems and drain the batteries of millions of controllers just because their titles are not aimed at a certain demographic? I’m not claiming the race card here, but this gem of a company appears to not like our content or what we are all about. How challenging is it to answer an email or at least look at our blog’s stats. It can’t be as difficult as nearly sanding off my fingertips on a keyboard on a daily basis in an attempt to bring meaningful, current, and ejoyable content to the youngest demographic in our nation, the Latinos. Despite the long nights, I will continue to type away and work with every other company that has jumped on board our happy bilingual train. In fact, thanks Nintendo, Eidos, Activision, Sega, Rockstar, EA, Ubisoft, Atlus, Sony and the many other publishers and developers that have believed in us and have not hassled us for not having the bank roll of a corporate owned blog. I’m not looking for a ban on Capcom titles because they are in fact of high quality, I’m just asking for the PR managers of this company to reflect on their unfair tactics. Hispanics play games and they too crave information, help us fill in that news gap.

I just wanted to give my opinion as to what I think is one of the best games out so far…I have to say, hands down, that Mario Kart for the Nintendo Wii is what the future of video gaming is all about. I’m not gonna lie, at first when i saw the presentation of the game, i thought to myself, “What the hell is so special about introducing a wheel that already came with that 4×4 monster truck racing game that was released during the launch of the wii? I did have my doubt, but still went to purchase it. I’ve been late to work these past 4-5 days because of me playing it until the “wii” hours of the morning!!!..lol! I really recommend this game to anyone who purchases the nintendo wii. I think the only issue that i kind of hate on a bit, is the fact that nintendo takes so long to release games for the virtual console in the wii shop channel. Other than that the system is a must have for those parents who want to avoid having their kid become a lazy fat couch potato!! I give respect to the Sony Playstation and Xbox fans out there, but when you can actually break a sweat playing a video game, and almost feel like you got a work out in for the day, to me… its PRICELESS…

just wanted to express myself a bit and say whats up to a long time friend of mine Mr. Eduardo Aguilar!!!

    gameroks.com Rocks!!!
