GameRoks Review: The House Of The Dead 2 & 3 Return. Vuelven Los Muertos.
The Wii is the perfect gaming console for gun games and SEGA has brought the House of The Dead series to your living room. Saving you tons of quarters is not the only positive this combo game brings. After Nintendo released their gun peripheral, the Zapper, not many games were design with it in mind. House of The Dead on the other hand makes you use the Zapper to house your Wii remote in a gun-like fashion, giving you the arcade feel light gun games are known for. Usually gun games are over before you feel like you’ve had your money’s worth, fortunately this time, SEGA put two games in one disc. The House of The Dead 2 & 3 Return is just that, games two and three of the famed arcade franchise for you to enjoy. Now you can enjoy “bustin’ a cap” in each and every one of those pesky and bloody zombies after your soul and skin.
Besides compiling the two games, SEGA has also packed in bonus content for each of the games, extra modes and the option to play cooperatively with other zombie hunters.
Control wise, the Wii remote responds very well as a “gun,” combined with the Wii Zapper, the experience becomes even more intuitive. The difficulty can be set, so if you are an expert marksman, challenge yourself by throwing more attacking zombies into the mix. Music and graphics are up to par with their arcade original, and the bigger your TV the more impressive the action on screen. Perhaps its low replay value is the only draw back to this game, once you have fully completed the game there really isn’t very much to go back to on your own, still having it handy for parties is highly recommended. Who doesn’t like showing off their aim with a fake gun. If you own a Wii Zapper, The House Of The Dead 2 & 3 Return is a must own to fully enjoy this plastic accessory, the bargain price does not hurt.
