Who doesn’t love having the power to buzz in and shine with their brilliant response. Trivia games are always fun, especially if the subject matter is a little more accessible to us lamen who refused to persue that Ph.D in physics. Sabes mucho del cine?
If you love your movies and know your actors, this is the perfect Playstation 2 game for snowy and rainy afternoons when the last thing on your mind is leave the house. If you want the laughter to multiply ten fold, a trivia game has to be played in groups amongst friends.
Sony’s Buzz! Hollywood Quiz comes packed in with four buzz controllers that may tangle up your living room with the long wires, but they serve the awesome purpose of giving your players the “game-show” feeling Buzz! tries to achieve, and for the most part accomplishes it. At first glance you’ll be greeted with a host that will throw out “funny” one-liners just like an over the hill show host would. At first the novelty of having someone host your game is a satisfying experience, but the more you get into the game, the more concentration you’ll require making you want to mute him out.
As the name suggest, Buzz! Hollywood Quiz will pit four players against each other in different movie categories. Before you get going, you’ll get the opportunity to choose a character and their outfits. Additionally, you’ll also have the most important responsibility of all before you, choosing your favorite buzzer noise. From chickens to alarms, prepare your house to become a buzzing mad house while you play.
The gameplay itself is amazing, most of the rouns will involve you choosing the right answers desginated to a colored button on your buzzer controller, on screen you will actually see real clips of your favorite movies, solidyfing Buzz! as a true party trivia game. After playing this game, all of us were laughing and commenting on how fun the game is, that’s more than enough proof that you’ll have a blast playing Buzz! Hollywood Quiz. It should be noted that I did not review this game playing solo against the computer, the game is meant for a group play environment.
