GameRoks Review: New International Track And Field, New Control Method New Fun.

Although the control method has been overhauled, the revival of this arcade classic has made of the New International Track and Field another classic in itself. With dozens of new events and huge amount of unlockables, you’ll be rubbing Nintendo’s DS touch screen all night long, just don’t let your mom catch you.
Playing this game is like sucking a full tank of helium, you’ll be squeeking like a squished rubber ducky from the enjoyable madness that is every event in this game. I have to admit, some games were frustrating, pero aun asi muy divertidos. Think of this game as the “Special Olympics,” not because of the disabilities of its competitors, but how you will look controlling some of the games.

The majority of the event will have you rubbing the touch screen back and forth at mach speeds, so if you don’t look like you are having a seizure or doing what makes hair grow on your palms, consider yourself a discreet and skilled player. Even so, con tanta actividad nunca te cansaras de mover tu manos con el juego. There’s so much to unlock, lot’s of hidden Konami characters, like Metal Gear’s Snake, there’s numerous outfits, and trophies. Additionally, once you unlock characters, you’ll unlock their corresponding challenges, which add even more depth to this title. These challenges are mini-games not at all related to Olympics or Track and Field, but are fun in their own right. The Frogger challenge, for example, has you swimming down the river avoiding logs and licking up flies to score points.
Of course that’s just the single player experience. Online multiplayer is another wonderful beast you need to let loose once you complete the single game affair. You’ll be able to taunt other players and display your might via a real time updating online leader boards. Konami, made the original Track and Field fun and challenging, this new edition is still really fun but not as challenging which, in my opinion, adds to the enjoyment of the game. The semi-cute character designs adds visual flare, it was an amazing touch to add Konami’s most successful characters to the playable character list. Not sure that choosing Frogger will guarantee you a gold medal in all the long jump events, but you’ll like seeing character sprint down the tracks.
