Going overseas for most means debauchery and sightseeing, hopefully in that order. For our small GameRoks’ team, we take it as a great opportunity to introduce those less fortunate to the addicting and brain cell killing world of gaming. Our yearly trip to less capitalistics countries has targeted Ecuador, the land of the Equator and Darwin studied giant turtles. Ironically, the country that led to the theory of evolution is not known for any kind of revolution in games. Sure they got Wii and the HD systems, but I don’t think they ever saw Windwaker or the other five good ‘Cube games.
You may ask why bring them an old sytem, you may even think that’s not even charitable, we see it as helping them with out hinderence. Remember when Ophrah thought she was being really nice by giving away Ferraris to each member of her audience? Altough the car might of actully been a Kia of some variety, a number of audience members could not afford the tax this new gift demanded, so they were forced to sell it. Would a family who could barely afford to eat really benefit from a system that requires games close to $60 a pop when that’s what a family brings in a month? Our charitable hearts are always paplitating so of course they’ll get a “new-gen” system once we have them hooked. In the meantime, I think a Gamecube would be a great starter system. Sarcasm aside, it has many great multiplayer games. Remember, a family that plays together curses and bashes the controller to the ground together for life!
So we are very open to suggestions as to what games to bring our Ecuadorean gaming homies. Let’s just hope they don’t tease us by ductaping it to the other Gamecubes they might already have.
