Apple’s iPad Mini and Google’s Nexus 7 are out there being promoted as “affordable” tablets, yet there’s a tablet that truly offers the best bang for your buck. Not everyone was able to cash in the crazy fire sale that was HP’s Touchpad for $99 so it would not be fair to categorize that tablet as a bargain, it’s next to impossible to get. Blackberry’s Playbook, on the other hand, can still be found at many online retailers for the ridiculously juicy price of $150 for a 64GB model. This 7 inch tablet has the perfect form factor and it’s performance is on par with many of it same size competitors. I grew to love this tablet because it plays the majority of video formats out of the box, I didn’t need to waste hours converting video. Better yet, it has an HDMI-out option that transforms the Playbook into a portable media player. Besides that thought, the mere form factor and portability of this thing makes it such an attractive piece of hardware. RIM has announced it will continue to support this machine so it may be worthwhile to jump in while the price is right.
