GameRoks Review: Forza MotorSport 3

Nintendo has been on my hit list as of late. Stagnant and unimpressive, the Wii has been closer to being used as a wobbly table balancing tool than my primary gaming device. Then, suddenly and unexpected, almost like getting a call from that cute girl you blew the three day rule with, comes New Super Mario Bros. That familiar dose of fun you grew up with revamped into your wettest dream.

The Wii Is Boring.

The much touted “fun” system has suddenly become the downer of the party. Like the girl that complains about everything, the Wii has become the pest that dampens our gaming moods. It’s sad that the system has stayed stagnant in the innovation department. While the competition eats up market share at an obese rate, Nintendo lowered the price of their console in attempts to catch those few stragglers who are yet to own the Wii. Unfortunately, the fever of the motion is simply dead and I fear Nintendo needs to revamp its portable and home-console strategy urgently if they want to remain relevant.
Third party game sales indicate that the system simply does not sell well to gamers who live and breathe games. Those are the individuals who make developers and publishers the most money, so it’s in everyone’s best interest to cater to this demographic. It’s fine to try and reel in the senile and impulse buyer, but those customers won’t stay loyal to the brand, they will simply move on to the next big thing.
The holiday season is rapidly approaching and my “must buy” list as of this moment does not contain any Nintendo products. Let’s hope the upcoming months reveal pleasant surprises.
