Beer Pong Gets Wiied, Pero La Gente Se Asusta.
Americans sure love to protest, high gas prices, the War in Iraq, Obama’s Pastor’s comments, and beer pong. JVGames has announced Beer Pong: Frat Party Games for Wii Ware, Nintendo’s download service. As you may expect, anything with the word “beer” and “Wii” in the same sentence is going to have a soccer mom rally up her troops and bake a cake of protest.
According to the Fair Fax County Times, moms are some what upset at the T (13+) rating the game received. This rating, according to Greater Herndon Community Coalition leader, Lisa Lombardozzi, “encourages younger kids to emulate the patterns of college-age kids.”
Considering many of us don’t graduate college until we are at least 21, it seems to me under-age drinking is taking place with out Wii the enabler around. Luckily for us press, angry protesters always seem to get a response, this is what JV Games spokesman Vince Valenti said on the matter:
“I think it’s kind of funny. The game promotes the sport of beer pong. We are not advocating drinking any more than watching cartoons or watching the TV show ‘Cheers,’ or even going bowling or to a baseball game… if anything, you’re going to be drinking less. Because you are too busy playing the game, trying to beat your opponent, to be constantly picking up a beer and drink.”
