Lost In Translarion

Video-gaming covers the World, from Hackensack to Bangkok. Here at GameRoks we speak three languages, Spanish, English, and the language of love. Cuantos de los mejores juegos van a nuestros países con títulos anglos, como sonarían si fueran traducidos literalmente? Aqui  un ejemplo:

Innovative Games Of The Nintendo DS. Los Juegos De Más Imaginación Del DS.

DS Lite Side

More »

Teen Crime Spree Inspired By Grand Theft Auto, Nico Bellic Is Real?

June 26th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Digital Bits, Uncategorized

Stupid Kid

From Kotaku:

Teen Crime Spree Inspired By Grand Theft Auto

Six teenagers were in court today following an all-night crime spree that began late Wednesday night and lasted into the early morning hours. The six teens allegedly began the evening with a mugging outside of a Nassau County, New York supermarket, eventually parading down a Garden City street carrying baseball bats and a crow bar, robbing one motorist and smashing a passing vehicle with a bat. What would cause such behavior in our impressionable young teens? Grand Theft Auto, of course.

“It was determined that they were emulating the character in that Grand Theft Auto game, going on a crime spree” using weapons and tactics inspired by the controversial video game, said Det. Sgt. Anthony Repalone, a Nassau police spokesman.

PinballMap’s Rant:

I’m sorry but there have been plenty of crimes before GTA and to keep blaming senseless violence on that is just plain dumb…maybe not dumb just fucking annoying. These kids go out and rob a car and smash some things, and blame it on a video games. Kids are not stupid, adults are, most of them anyway. Or just plain ignorant. Crimes like this have been going on way before violent games like GTA have been around and will continue to go on. Some kids are just what you call assholes. What happened to just being an asshole. Hell, I’m friends with 90% assholes and they don’t even play video games, fuck, one doesn’t even have a TV. If adults or people need a scapegoat to blame these stupid crimes on try there parents. These crimes were commited late Wednesday night, that’s a god damn school night, they should be in bed or better yet, go play some video games maybe it will occupy your time better. The headline shouldnt be “Crime Spree Inspired by Grand Theft Auto,” it should be “Crime Spree Caused From Being an Asshole.” Anyway, in conclusion some people are just assholes and the Grand Theft Auto excuse is played out kids so try a new one. Gaming And Marriage, Sometimes Heaven Sometimes Hell.

Play With Me

Reviewing video games takes a toll on any social life, weather you have one or not. To be objective and uphold all the ethics learned in Communication and Journalism Law classes down at Rutgers U., I strive to complete games and get the full gist of what they’re all about. This is where being a loner would help. Not having to satisfy, help, or even care for anyone would be ideal to dedicate countless hours into the games I like most. More »

Wii Zapper

Actually, that’s all that is, a plastic casing for your Wii remote and Nunchuk. Lucky for us, that has not stop game developers from specifically designing games for what Nintendo calls the Wii Zapper, at least you can play something other than Link’s Crossbow training. Bueno, ya compraste el Wii Zapper, y quizás no tenga la menor idea de que hay mas juegos además del que viene incluido que fueron diseñados específicamente para usar este aparto de plástico. A continuación los mejores. More »

Forget Nicotine Patches, Use A Nintendo DS To Stop Smoking.

Usbisoft is really serious about using software to teach you how to live your life. So far they have released My Word Coach, My Weight Loss Coach, and now Allen Carr’s Easyway to Stop Smoking. I’m eagerly waiting for the digital 12 steps, not because I’m a raging alcoholic, more so I can use the phrase, “fat, drunk, and stupid is now way to go through life son.” I’m very confident that famous line from Animal House is hanging in the “creative room” over at Ubisoft. Let’s hope they don’t have a “My Planned Parenthood” in the works…

Mission To GameStop, Any Buried Treasure Bargains Left To Find?

May 12th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Digital Bits

Mission To GameStop

I hate to give free publicity to undeserving corporations, unfortunately GameStop is the only place around my neck of the woods where I can still find used games with out anxiously waiting for eBay bidding wars to end. Hate GameStop, but I’m going to have to venture into the store to see what bargains I can find. If any treasures are still left on that bargain-bin jungle, I’ll make sure you guys know about it. Tomorrow will be my first journey in to the cavernous destination of corporate retail, hope to live and blog about it. Stay tuned…

CAPCOM Doesn’t Like People Like Me. Or Is It My Language?

Capcom Hates US

Gaming journalism has become as inundated with sites and “journalists” as a New York City public pool in hell heat July. It seems everyone is blogging about video games in one way or another. In a way, it lead me to like the idea that video games no longer give off that stench of wet leather pocket protectors and undeodorized arms pits. Weather you want to admit it or not, the majority of earth’s inhabitants own some kind of gaming device, the digital life style is no longer a dorky one.
